Distances from Antibes Station: Old Town, Beaches, Port Vauban and Juan-les-Pins

Getting off the train in Antibes means arriving right in the town center. The SNCF station, on Place Pierre-Semard, is about ten minutes’ walk from Old Antibes and Port Vauban, so most sights can be reached without a taxi or car. You just need to know what is an easy walk, what is worth a bus and what calls for another short train ride.

Here are distances and travel times from the station to the main places in Antibes and Juan-les-Pins. Walking times are estimates for a relaxed pace without luggage.

Old Antibes about ten minutes on foot

From the station, Place Nationale, the heart of Old Antibes, is about 850 meters away, an eleven-minute walk. The Provençal market on Cours Masséna is one kilometer away, about fifteen minutes, and the Picasso Museum, housed in the Château Grimaldi overlooking the sea, is about 1.15 kilometers away. The route is flat, gently descending toward the port before following the ramparts: no need for a bus unless you have heavy luggage.

Right next to the station, two minutes on foot, the Pôle d’échanges hub brings together the main Envibus lines as well as the ZOU! 82 bus to Nice Airport. The former bus station on Place Guynemer, about 700 meters away, is still the starting point for several town lines, including the 14 to Salis beach.

Port Vauban and Fort Carré

The Port Vauban harbor master’s office is about 850 meters from the station, roughly ten minutes on foot. To stroll along the Quai des Milliardaires, where the largest yachts moor, allow just over a kilometer, about 17 minutes. Fort Carré, overlooking the harbor entrance, is 1.6 kilometers away, about twenty minutes: part of the route follows Avenue du 11-Novembre, fitted with a cycle lane that is part of the EuroVelo 8.

The beaches closest to the station

Gravette beach, beneath the ramparts, is the closest: about one kilometer, thirteen minutes on foot. Ponteil beach, gently sloping and popular with families, is 1.6 kilometers away, about twenty minutes, and Salis beach 2.1 kilometers, nearly half an hour. For these last two, line 02 from the Pôle d’échanges saves you a walk in the sun.

Juan-les-Pins: take the train rather than walk

Juan-les-Pins is about 2.2 kilometers from Antibes station, half an hour on foot. The train is far more practical: TER services link the two stations in about four minutes, with dozens of trains a day, for a few euros. From Juan-les-Pins station, the main beach and the Pinède Gould are five minutes away on foot.

Cap d’Antibes and La Garoupe

Cap d’Antibes is too far for a simple stroll from the station: Garoupe beach is more than four kilometers away, nearly an hour’s walk. Line 02 leaves from the Pôle d’échanges and crosses the Cap to the Posidonia terminus, stopping at the Garoupe lighthouse and at Fontaine, about ten minutes’ walk from the beach. The ride costs €1 with a ticket bought in advance.

Azurarena, Biot and Antibes Land

The Azurarena, the town’s concert and sports venue, is about 4.5 kilometers from the station and served directly by Bus-Tram lines A and B, at the Azurarena d’Antibes stop. For Antibes Land, the amusement park on the Biot side, the easiest option is the TER to Biot station, about five minutes away, followed by a 500-meter walk. The park is seasonal and closes in early autumn, so check opening dates before you go.

Luggage, taxis and final tips

An important point if you arrive with suitcases: Antibes station has no SNCF left-luggage office. The station operator points travelers to a Nannybag partner less than five minutes’ walk away, and other luggage storage services in local shops are available for a few euros a day; book online in summer.
