Parking in Old Antibes: Where to Park and How Much It Costs<\/h1><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Old Antibes is best explored on foot, and that is a good thing: between the cobbled lanes, the pedestrian zones protected by bollards and the narrow streets around Cours Mass\u00e9na, there is hardly any room for cars. The real question is where to leave yours, as close as possible to the ramparts, the Proven\u00e7al market or the Picasso Museum, without blowing your budget.

As a complement to our general guide to parking in Antibes<\/a>, this article focuses on the car parks around the old town, their rates and a few tips to pay less.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Pr\u00e9-aux-P\u00eacheurs: closest to the old town<\/h2><\/div>

Located on Avenue de Verdun, opposite the port, the Pr\u00e9-aux-P\u00eacheurs underground car park is the most convenient entry point to Old Antibes. Run by Q-Park, it has about 570 spaces, is open 24\/7 and sits five minutes\u2019 walk from Place Nationale and eight minutes from the Picasso Museum. It also has plenty of EV chargers. Watch the height limit of 1.90 m: camper vans and some SUVs with roof boxes will not fit.

As for prices, Q-Park lists indicative rates of about \u20ac21 for six hours in low season (\u20ac22.50 in high season) and just under \u20ac43 for 24 hours. The town offers two hours of free parking there on Saturdays, except in July and August: a great deal for a morning at the market.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

La Poste, Fr\u00e8res-Olivier, M\u00e9diath\u00e8que: the central car parks<\/h2><\/div>

Several other Q-Park underground car parks surround the old town, all with a 1.90 m height limit. La Poste, on Rue Vauban, has about 330 spaces four minutes\u2019 walk from Place Nationale; Fr\u00e8res-Olivier, on Boulevard Gustave-Chancel, 327 spaces eight minutes away; the M\u00e9diath\u00e8que, on Rue des Lits-Militaires, 192 spaces about ten minutes away. Jean-Marie-Poirier, on Avenue Tourre, adds 282 spaces a little further north.

Their main appeal lies in the free periods set up by the town: two hours free on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at Fr\u00e8res-Olivier, La Poste and the M\u00e9diath\u00e8que, except in July and August. The M\u00e9diath\u00e8que also offers 30 free minutes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, perfect for a quick stop. Outside these slots, expect rates similar to Pr\u00e9-aux-P\u00eacheurs.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Port Vauban car parks<\/h2><\/div>

Port Vauban has its own open-air car parks, run by the Nice C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur Chamber of Commerce, with around a thousand spaces along Avenue de Verdun. They are about ten minutes\u2019 walk from Place Nationale and suit tall vehicles that cannot fit in underground car parks. The 2026 rate is \u20ac17.70 for a day.

Their best feature is the evening package: \u20ac3.50 from 7 p.m. to midnight, including a free first hour. For dinner in Old Antibes or an evening by the harbor, it is hard to find anything cheaper nearby. Park for free and finish by shuttle<\/h2><\/div>

To pay nothing at all, the best solution is to leave the car a little further out. The Fort Carr\u00e9 (150 spaces) and Bouygues (268 spaces) park-and-ride car parks, north of the port, are free for 48 hours, then \u20ac5 a day or \u20ac25 a week. From Fort Carr\u00e9, the free Envibus NFC shuttle runs to Porte Marine, at the entrance to Old Antibes, every day, with a stepped-up summer timetable from early June to early October. On foot, it is just over a kilometer, about fifteen minutes along the port.

On-street parking around the old town<\/h2><\/div>

Around Old Antibes, on-street spaces are few and in high demand, but the system has its perks. Enter your plate number at the meter and you get one free hour per day per vehicle, within a maximum stay of 3 hours 15 minutes. Parking is charged on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.; it is free between 12 and 2 p.m., from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m., and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. You can pay by card, in cash or with the Flowbird app.

If you overstay, the post-parking fee is \u20ac15. In practice, finding a street space near the old town in summer is down to luck, so it is better to head straight for a car park.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pedestrian zones and bollards: what to know before driving in<\/h2><\/div>

The heart of Old Antibes is protected by retractable bollards. A permanent pedestrian zone covers streets such as Rue du Bas-Castelet, Rue Fersen, Rue Vandenberg, Rue Championnet and the Promenade Amiral-de-Grasse. There is also a temporary pedestrian zone from 3:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Cours Mass\u00e9na and Rues Vauban, Aubernon, Tourraque and Maizi\u00e8re: it applies every day in the summer season, and only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from October to April. Deliveries are allowed from 6 to 10 a.m.

Only residents and shopkeepers with a permit can pass the bollards. Never follow an authorized vehicle through: if the bollard rises, the damage is at the driver\u2019s expense. And be wary of GPS apps suggesting a route through the old town: park before you get there.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our tips for stress-free parking<\/h2><\/div>

In July and August, arrive before 10 a.m.: after that, the closest car parks are often full. For an evening out, go for the Port Vauban package; for a Saturday market morning outside peak season, make the most of the two free hours in the underground car parks.
